FDI International, a division of FDI has 16years experience in the Telecom Industry in 63 Countries. Their proprietary technology will allow quality Voip on even dial-up speeds, which makes up approximately 40% of the market.

If I can save you 50-95% on the cost of your telecommunications (cell phone, home and business phone, internet,), with better features than you currently have, by applying proprietary technology, would you?” Contact 888.728.4725

It depends on who is providing the service. It is possible that you would need only a 8-10kbps connection, however this would not be very good quality. Generally, you will want at least a 75-100k connection to use VOIP. Be sure that your UPLOAD speed is at least this as well, otherwise you may hear the other person fine, but your voice will sound broken to them.

If you get a service which requires the 75-100k connection, you will probably not notice a difference in terms of call quality. But this is highly dependent on how good your internet connection is. Really, the only way to know is to try it out.

Over the past 10 years carriers have perfected VOIP so that today it is quite reliable. I would suggest Vonage, since it is a 3rd party company and you won't have to rely upon your internet carrier. Vonage starts at $19.95/month, which is considerably less than what you'd pay for unlimited long0-distance on a standard phone. Vonage is easy to install and configure. Good Luck.
