		<description>they are very expensive for cables. if the signal is digital, like hdmi - u dont need to spend much, they will perform the same, cheap vs. pricey.
if analog, like composite, this is where u need to invest more.
but monster cables are still expensive.

		<description>You have to spend between $15,000 - $25,000 to have Lucas &#039;certify&#039; your product so you can put &quot;THX&quot; on the package.  Then you can not change the materials, design, etc., or you have to send the product back to Lucas for re-certification.

The &quot;Certified&quot; HDMI spec works the same way.

I suspect with HDMI taking over all audio and video connections - Monster decided to not bother with the price/hassle of THX certification for their analog/optical cables.</description>

		<description>I would have to assume that even Monster couldn&#039;t fool enough people into paying their ridiculous prices for their top end cables. 

That, or THX caught on and told them to stop abusing their name (since as far as I know THX certification doesn&#039;t specifically cover cables).</description>
