whats the diference between plasma screen tv and lcd screen tv and which one is the better?

i would like to buy a new tv for my living room so i went shoping,some one told me that plasma tv is beter than lcd but i found that lcd tv is more expensive than plasma tv same screen size,so im confuse about which one i have to buy plz help if u can!
