What would be a natural reason that a plasma tv screen would crack?

Would a plasma TV screen ever crack or shatter because of a TV malfunction? I was thinking of buying one, but warranty doesn't cover accidents. Before I buy one, I want to know if there is any reason that a plasma TV screen would crack. Any kinds of malfunctions in the TV itself, or other natural causes.
