A specification for a Handlehld Device Markup Language (HDML) for mobile computers has been proposed by the W3 consortium, the organization that develops new versions of the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). HDML will create smarter cellular phones. This will allow people to use wireless communication to check stock quotes, browse catalogs, and place orders for goods and services.
