What is causing white specks to pop up all over my plasma tv screen?

I have a Pioneer plasma PDP-4360HD and a Scientific Atlanta 8000HD cable box connected to it. The cable box has a DVI output, so I connected my HDMI cable to the DVI port with an HDMI-to-DVI adaptor. The picture is perfect for the most part, but there are always these annoying little white specks popping up all over the screen, especially in dark areas. I know it’s not the HDMI cable or the DVI adaptor because I returned the original ones I had in exchange for replacements thinking the problem was in one of those connections. Also, these aren’t cheap cables. They’re both Monster brand, the HDMI cable costing 0. Here’s the funny thing: I don’t have the white specks problem with the component cables that came with the cable box. It’s only when I connect the HDMI cable that this problem comes into play. Aren’t HDMI cables supposed to be way better quality? The PICTURE itself is better with the HDMI cables, but those specks are driving me crazy! Anyone who can help I’d really appreciate
No, it’s not the plasma itself, for all those suggesting that. For one, Pioneer is one of the top producers of plasma TV sets. Trust me, I did lots of research on plasmas, LCDs, and projection screens, and plasma was what I ended up going with. DVDs play perfectly on the screen, and even cable plays speckless when I connect it with the component cables. Only with the HDMI cables do I get the specks, so I know it has something to do with the cables, but it is not the cables themselves, being that I have used more than one set of the same Monster brand cable. My best guess is the cable box doesn’t present well with HDMI cables, but anyone who might actually know the cause of the problem and what can be done to fix it, I welcome to answer this question.
