My plasma tv has a blue tint on the left side and is spreading across the screen. What is this?

My plamsa screen TV started showing a blue tint on the left side of the screen a few weeks ago. At first it was very small but now is spreading across the screen. It only shows up when there is the color white on the TV, or any other "light" color. Can anyone tell me what this is?
