Lexmark Z32 – Your Office Will Thank You For This Machine

If you are looking to purchase an entry level printer, the Lexmark z32 could be right up your street. Whilst not a trailblazer in printer design, it is a more than capable workhorse, for the home user. The ease of use is demonstrated perfectly with the inclusion of only two simple control buttons: Power and Paper Feed. However, this simplicity and basic approach is fantastic for quick cleaning, paper loading and changing of the Lexmark Z 32 ink cartridge.

If you know your printers, you will not be a great deal surprised by the ease in which you can set-up and install the Lexmark z32 inkjet printer. If you do not know much about them, it may surprise you to learn you could be underway in as little as 15 minutes. From taking it out of the box, plugging it in, to installing it; the process should take no more than twenty minutes.

The basic paper tray, which cannot be added to, has a small capacity of just 100 sheets. However, it can handle many different types of media including photographic paper and transparencies. The tray, whilst basic, is more than adequate and complete with an automatic envelope feeder. It also benefits from Lexmark’s Drop & Go paper loading system. Just be sure to only use the proper Lexmark Z 32 ink.

The speed of printing is limited to a maximum of 7 pages per minute (ppm) when printing in black and white. The color equivalent allows just half this amount. However, speed can be increased through the lower settings for draft work and the like. Quality reduces, but only to a minimum of 600x600dpi, from the maximum of 1200×1200.

As mentioned earlier, whilst drivers for later OS need to be found online, the Lexmark z32 is compatible with both Windows and Mac – quite unusual for a budget Lexmark printer at the time. Also unusual in comparison to many other such printers, the z32 enjoys both parallel port and USB connection, which makes things a whole lot simpler.

There are other very good features on the Lexmark z32 too. One of the early printers to benefit from Lexmark’s Accu-Feed paper handling, together with the previously mentioned Drop & Go facility, paper jams are seldom experienced. Great for the bungling kids… (Or dad!).

With near laser quality printing at the highest settings, the Lexmark z32 also benefits from automatic optimization of Internet images prior to printing and the integrated sRGB ColorFine printer driver software, which ensures near perfect color matching from screen to print.

Whilst cheaper options are available, it is always advisable to install the manufacturer’s official inks. And, sticking to the theme of user friendly function, replacing the Lexmark Z 32 ink couldn’t be easier: Just lift the front, whip out the old carts, and replace with the new ink. A great printer for many of the basics, if your kids are hassling you for a printer of their own, the Lexmark z32 could be the answer.
