hooking up home theater surround sound to cable t.v.?
I would like to hook up my home theater system (JVC TH-C50) to my HDTV (Vizio 26" LCD HDTV with Digital Tuner, VW26L) so when I watch cable t.v. I will hear my surround sound. And I’m going to point out I’m upstairs out of the living room therefore I don’t have a cable box in my room if that helps in any way. Thank you and it would mean a lot if someone could help.

EDIT: Well I have a digital optical cable but there is no digital optical cable slot on the t.v. to hook it up to. Everything is in my room. Just I can only get the surround sound to work with my dvd player and my ps2 using the digital optical cable.
