Does The Brand Name Really Matter?

For the majority of industries and markets, brand name is one of the least important things to consider. When it comes to a product like an APC battery, however, brand name actually comes into play beyond mere bragging rights for being able to afford the big name item. The brand name in the UPS battery market – is it important? This article is going to try and explain how and why the brand name comes into play.

The truth is that, for the vast majority of industries, the brand name really doesn’t matter all that much. There’s really no difference, the branded named flour versus the supermarket brand. The same ingrredients are still used, it’s still flour whatever brand you are going with.

Brand name for an APC battery, so why does it matter? Brand names – in general, it’s all about status so what difference does it make in the APC battery world?

Well, there’s a certain degree of craftsmanship that goes into creating an APC battery. Companies tend to build there batteries differently; each one using different parts and different methods. Not to mention, some companies are a little more stringent about manufacturing standards than others.

When you consider that APC batteries contain lead and acids, making sure that your battery is well built is not only an issue of getting your money’s worth, but also a safety concern. A cheapo brand battery that springs a leak can be a serious problem.

Secondly, what makes these companies top in the first place; consider this. Generally, they have a reputation for being reliable and for outliving their warranties, and that’s why companies like Yuasa and CSB manage to hold such strong brand recognition in the UPS power supply industry.

There are many APC battery manufacturers out there, who sell good reliable products but the simple fact is, people simply want to buy their favourite brands and if you cannot provide customers, then they will simply start shopping elsewhere.

The best brand in many industries, may not always be the lead brand and vice versa. For example, Apple computers are said to be the leaders in creating computers for multimedia, so they’re typically the go-to brand for anyone who works with photoshop or video editing. However, companies like Alienware, while focusing on gaming computers, have inadvertently created products that rival Macs on every level when it comes to multimedia.

However, APC batteries are something of a niche market. Typically, the people buying these batteries know exactly what they’re looking for, they’ve tried a number of brands, and have found Yuasa and CSB to be, almost invariably, amongst the most reliable in the industry.

In short: if you’re looking for a reliable replacement APC battery, that will give you uninterrupted power supply and power protection, it may be a good idea to go with Yuasa and CSB. Both of these companies have maintained a reputation for creating solid, reliable batteries, and for good reason.
