WoW Engineering – Crazy Inventors and Junk Keepers?

From all the professions you can choose in WoW, Engineering is probably the most fun one. Engineers have a task to combine and create various parts in order to produce various useful items and even junk. Engineers can make a lot of bombs, bullets and guns, goggles, weird pets and even motorbikes and flying machines.

Most people want to become an Engineer because it’s just plain fun and as an Engineer you can make some crazy stuff like a Flying Machine. An Engineer needs to have his skill on 300 so he can pick up schematics from Niobe Whizzlespark (Shadowmoon Valley) that will teach him how to craft this mount. Is it hard to level up Engineering?

Engineering is not like any other profession. It requires time and patience but it will certainly prove to be fun. If you want to speed up the leveling a bit you should take the Mining profession as well because you will need a lot of metal bars and gems. It is possible to level it even without Mining, but then the whole process will be much more expensive since you will need to buy the mats on the Auction House.

What can an Engineer make?

Engineers are famous for their items and creativity and are also known for their junk! Don’t let the junk fool you though because an Engineer can craft some great items as well.

The most famous Engineering products that made a mark in WoW’s history are a Field Repair Bot as well as the Goblin Jumper Cables. These Bots are used in instances and especially in raids where the whole group is practicing a certain boss tactics and instead of waiting for all players to go, repair and come back. Basically repair bots can improve raids and make the raid nicer for everybody.

Goblin Jumper Cables are particularly useful if you belong to a Hunter or a Rogue class. If their party dies, Rogues and Hunters can Stealth or Feign Death and once the mobs have gone back to their starting positions these classes can try to resurrect a healer whom will then be able to resurrect the entire party or raid. This is also a time savior and a very convenient invention.

Engineers are also known for their epic goggles – a head piece that looks great and has really good stats. For the best leveling guide click here: Ultimate Guide WoW

Specs for Engineers

An Engineer, similar to a Blacksmith or a Tailor, can specialize in different fields of his profession. This happens once you gain 200 skill levels. You can choose either Goblin or Gnomish type of Engineering. What is different about these two specializations is the place where you end up when you use the teleportation device and the trinket. Gnomish Engineers have Transporter – Gadgetzan and Transporter – Toshley’s Station while Goblin Engineers have Dimensional Ripper – Everlook and Dimensional Ripper – Area 52.

Engineering since the latest expansion

The WOTLK expansion brought many nice abilities and items to all professions and so it did with Engineering. Reason for this is that Engineers can now make motorcycles! The Mekgineer’s Chopper is a schematic available for the Alliance players while Mechano-hog is a schematic available for the Horde players. Getting all the materials together is quite time-taking and expensive but nevertheless the popularity of these motorcycles is growing each day.

Engineering pets

An Engineer isn’t a real Engineer if he or she doesn’t have at least one cool homemade pet. There are 2 different ‘bind on pickup’pets they can create – Lil’ Smoky & Pet Bombling. Both recipes drop in Gnomeregan, a low level instance found in Dun Morogh. If you would like more on WoW Leveling, click here: WoW Leveling Guide
